MEPU RCW – NEW 21ST CENTURY CROWN BAR TYPE SILO DRYER The main parts of RCW dryer are familiar from the thousands of manufactured Mepu dryers. The most significant differences are found in the base solution, elevator and pre cleaner. There are many constructional novelties in RCW when compared to the traditional silo dryers e.g. the radiator layout, feeding device, paternoster elevator construction and dust removal system. All these novelties aim to a more efficient and secure drying process. MODERN AND FLEXIBLE The Mepu dryers are manufactured in our modern work shop using the latest technologies and our long experience. We are flexible enough to meet our customers own specific needs but yet, thanks to our advanced modularisation, can provide them the advantages of a big scale manufacturing. CAREFULLY CONSIDERED MATERIALS AND WELL FINISHED PRODUCTS Mepu products are of high quality with top class construction and latest technology. Maintenance and cleaning can also be easily and flexibly performed. All used materials are well-adapted helping to keep the operating costs low. Mepu products are made of galvanised acid-proof steel and therefore long lasting even in heavy use. INTRODUCTION OF THE DRYER CONSTRUCTION FEEDING DEVICE There are six long rotating five blade rollers in Mepu RCW dryers. These rollers guarantee an even infeed in all circumstances and throughout the whole drying process even with the smallest seeds. Feeding capacity can be steplessly adjusted with a frequency converter from the control box. Under each roller there is a bottom door which are centrally opened in order to speed up the unloading. A return system of overflown grains from the draught box is included as a standard equipment in Mepu RCW and RCW Junior dryers. SUPPORT AND BASE CONE A solid RHS-steel support and galvanised steepsided base cone. Bottom aspirator guarantees an even feed of grain to the elevator. GRAIN BIN The grain bin is a dismountable silo made of galvanised steel. The fact that the moist grain first swells when heated has been taken to consideration when designing. The grain volume diminishes significantly as the drying process proceeds. Mepu grain bin has been optimised to function in all circumstances. DRYING CELLS The dimensions and spacing of the crown bars are similar to Mepu mobile dryers known for their excellent drying properties. There are several exceptionally short air knives in Mepu drying cells guaranteeing an even drying process. Drying is most efficient at high temperature and with a large air volume. For smaller batches there are interceptors in the cells on both intake and outblast sides. By altering the amount of drying cells and grain bin sections it is possible to obtain the best possible dryer system for your specific needs. MEPU – FOR CUSTOMERS BEST ! RCW-PRE CLEANER / DISTRIBUTOR In all RCW models there is a pre cleaner with own motor (0,75 – 2,2 kW). The grains are run along the staggered runway. The aspirator takes air in under the staircase from the grain bin and air holes. Small grains, impurities and dust are effectively removed from the dryed grain batch. Motor-driven distributing plate (RCW 200-600) distributes and spreads the grain evenly in the grain bin. ELEVATORS Efficient and quiet cup elevator with rectangular hollow section (60 – 100 t/h) secures a fast loading and unloading. Due to galvanised steel parts the elevator is also long lasting. The elevator is always equipped with a so called pin gear motor when no changes or tensioning of V-belts is required. In the upper end of the elevator there is a place for an aspirator for dust removal when the grain is fed from the elevator to the silo. The delivery includes both infeed and discharging chutes as well as the circulating tubes of stainless steel. ELECTRIC CENTER The standard delivery includes a fully automatic center. The center is equipped with necessary alert lights, working hour detector, faul current guard, re-start automatic, motor shield couplings and automatic fuses. An accurate digital thermostat stops the drying and the adjustable timer controls the length of the cooling period. The temperatures of dry and exhaust air are easily stated from the digital display. There is also an adjuster for feeding device in the electric center. FURNACES The furnaces come in six sizes with an Oilon oil burner. The capacities of the furnaces vary from 170 kW to 500 kW and those of the fan motors from 4 to 11 kW. The maximum air circulation of the fan motors is between 14000 and 24500 m3/h. The burner flame burns in the middle of the cylindrical fire box and is led from there to vertical finned tube heat exchangers. The firing chamber as well as the heat exchangers are made of functional materials. The vertical heat exchangers emit heat evenly, effectively and economically without sooting. In models from 300 to 500 kW the covering elements of the furnace have been isolated with 50 mm hard wool. For larger dryers the ventilation can be exceeded with separate channel aspirators.
